What is it?
Small bike doesn’t really mean you’ll have less fun. It means, there is more to explore, just like you can do in the new Benelli T 135. This small compact bike was unveiled at the ongoing 2016 Auto Expo and will be introduced in the market soon.
Firstly, the overall body proportions of the T 135 isn’t like an ordinary motorcycle you find in the market. The Italian manufacturer is marketing this bike towards young kids, who are just out of college. However, due to its quirky looks, the bike is surely get some attention on the road.
The Benelli T 135 is powered by a 135cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which produces 12.6bhp at 9000rpm and peak torque of 10.8Nm at 7000rpm. This engine used a five-speed gearbox to transfer power to the rear wheel. In terms of equipment, the T 135 rides on 12-inch wheels which sports 120/70 and 130/70 tyres at the front and rear respectively. The suspension duties are taken care of by upside-down 41mm fork at the front and mono shock with spring pre-load adjustment at the rear.
India relevance?
The Benelli T 135 doesn’t have any competition for now. But yes, Honda also launched their new fun model called Navi but that’s more like a scooter. However, we do see a new trend of fun motorcycling in India.
Launch plans?
DSK Motowheels says that the Benelli T 135 will be launched within this calendar year. But before they do that, we suggest they do a market research to find out if there is really a market for such motorcycles.
