The Benelli TNT 135 was recently spotted at a commercial shoot. Marking Benelli’s foray into a completely new segment, the new TNT 135 is expected to hit showrooms in the next couple of months.
The Benelli TNT 135 might borrow styling cues from the TNT 25 and other siblings, but it is actually a mini bike riding on 12-inch wheels. The sculpted tank, exposed trellis frame and twin-pipe exhaust give it the visual appeal of an exotic streetfighter. It is powered by a 134.7cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 12.6bhp and 10.8Nm of torque through a five-speed gearbox. The alloy wheels ride on inverted front forks and a rear monoshock. Both wheels get disc brakes.
Benelli seemed sceptical about the feasibility of the TNT 135 for the Indian market during the Auto Expo. Now though the company has decided to go ahead and launch the motorcycle here. The Honda Navi is the only bike which can be considered as a rival to the TNT 135. However with a price tag between Rs 1.3 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh, the TNT 135 will be way more expensive than Honda’s automatic scooter.
