The Benelli TNT 135 has been spotted testing in Pune. Called Tornado Naked T135 in global markets, this mini bike will go on sale in India by March 2017.
The Benelli TNT 135 was first unveiled at the 2015 EICMA motorcycle show in Italy, and marks Benelli’s foray into a completely new segment. An offbeat motorcycle, the TNT 135 has been styled to look like a miniature version of the TNT 25. It features all the traditional Benelli styling cues like the muscular fuel tank and an exposed trellis frame. The TNT 135 will be available with a 135cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine. Delivering 12.6bhp and 10.8Nm of torque, the engine is mated to a five-speed transmission. It gets sophisticated cycle parts, with inverted front suspension and rear monoshock, and disc brakes performing braking duties for both the 12-inch wheels.
Globally, this niche segment has been dominated by the Honda MSX125 Grom. In India, the Honda Navi is the only bike which can come close to being considered as a competition to the TNT 135. With a price tag between Rs 1.3 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh, the TNT 135 should remain unrivalled for quite some time.
