Benelli has launched the TNT 300 in the Indian market, at Rs 2.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The TNT 300 is the entry-level motorcycle in the Italian manufacturer’s line-up and competes with the Kawasaki Z250, Suzuki Inazuma 250 and the more powerful KTM Duke 390.
Built around a steel trestle frame, the TNT 300 is powered by a 300cc inline two-cylinder engine that produces 36.2bhp and 27Nm of torque. This engine is equipped with a Delphi electronic fuel injection system and comes mated to a six-speed transmission.
The TNT 300 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, with upside-down forks at the front and an offset monoshock in the rear. Braking hardware includes twin 260mm discs upfront and a 240mm disc at the rear. Like any typical streetfighter motorcycle, the TNT 300 gets a raised handlebar, low set headlamp and an exposed frame. Some of the other aggressive Italian design cues can be noticed on the muscular fuel tank, the front cowl and the tail section. It comes in three colours -rosso (red), verde (green), and nero (black).
Like the rest of the Benelli line-up, the TNT 300 is locally assembled at DSK Motowheels’ plant in Maharashtra, which has helped the manufacturer price it so competitively, and we expect it to give a hard time to its competition.
