The Benelli TNT 600i has been launched in India at Rs 5.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). A streetfighter version of the TNT 600GT touring motorcycle, the TNT 600i, is currently the most affordable four-cylinder motorcycle in the Indian market.
Like most of the Italian exotics, the TNT 600i ranks high in terms of looks and styling. The aesthetic appeal of the bike is enhanced by the muscular fuel tank, front cowl, the beautifully sculpted swingarm as well as the twin under-seat exhaust pipes. The TNT 600i is based on a composite chassis made of steel trestle in the front and an aluminium rear section which links the rear suspension.
The TNT 600i is powered by the 600cc inline-four engine with electronic fuel injection, which is also used in the TNT 600GT. The liquid-cooled engine produces 82bhp and 52Nm of torque, which is transmitted to the wheels through a six-speed transmission. The suspension on the TNT 600i has been borrowed from the bigger TNT siblings. It comes with upside down Marzocchi front forks and an adjustable Sachs offset monoshock in the rear. Stopping power for the 17-inch wheels comes through twin 320mm floating discs at the front and a single 240mm disc in the rear.
The bike comes in three colour schemes namely, rosso (red), bianco (white) and nero (black). It competes with other middleweight streetfighters like the Hyosung GT 650N, Kawasaki ER-6n and the upcoming Ducati Scrambler.
