The Benelli TNT 899 has been launched in India at Rs 9.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Powered by an 898cc inline three engine, the TNT 899 is the most powerful motorcycle in its segment.
The styling on the TNT 899 seems to be heavily influenced by the bigger Benelli streetfigters, making it look like a downsized version of the TNT 1130. The steel trestle frame is exposed and comes in contrasting colours to make it stand out. The underseat exhaust, side-mounted radiators, five-spoke alloy wheels and petal discs on the bike further enhance the TNT 899’s raw appeal.
The TNT 89 mill produces 118bhp and 88Nm of torque. This engine comes with electronic fuel-injection and is mated to a six-speed transmission with slipped clutch. Suspension for the TNT 899 has been sourced from Marzocchi and ZF Sachs, while braking is taken care of by twin 320mm discs at the front and a single 240mm disc in the rear.
The bike gets two colour schemes - bianco (white) and nero (black). It competes against other middleweight streetfighters like the Kawasaki Z800, Triumph Street Triple and the upcoming Ducati Monster 796.
