Benelli has officially confirmed that the TNT 25 will be launched in India, this December. Like other Benelli motorcycles, the TNT 25 will be locally assembled in the DSK Motowheels’ factory in Maharashtra, and will be positioned below the TNT 300 as an entry-level model.
The TNT 25 will be the lone single-cylinder model in Benelli’s range. This quarter-litre motorcycle is built on a steel trestle frame, with the engine as a stressed member. Visually, it draws inspiration from its bigger siblings and features several characteristic streetfighter-ish styling cues like exposed frame, a sculpted fuel tank and minimal bodywork. At the heart of the TNT 25 is a 250cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, which delivers 25bhp and 22Nm of torque. The front wheel rides on 41mm USD forks, while the rear wheel gets a monoshock. The 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels get a 280mm disc brake upfront, and a 240mm disc brake in the rear.
Though the TNT 25 had made its Indian debut at the India Bike Week in February, this year, Benelli had stopped short of launching the motorcycle in the country. For entry-level motorcycles like the TNT 25, which carry the responsibility of generating volumes for the brand, it is quite necessary to have a widespread dealer network and a good brand image. In the past year, Benelli has opened 14 showrooms across major cities, which has helped them perform exceptionally well in certain regions. Now that it has a decently spread out dealership network in the country, the Italian marque has finally made up its mind about launching the TNT 25 in India.
