Last week, Benelli unveiled three new models – Tre 1130 K Amazonas, TNT 250 and the Blackster 250 at the India Bike Week 2015 in Vagator, Goa. While the company had refused divulge details about these bikes’ launch dates, our sources have revealed that these three new models will go on sale in the Indian market in May, this year.
Like the other five models, these three motorcycles are also going to be assembled from completely knocked down units (CKD) at DSK Motowheels’ facility in Maharashtra. The local assembly should help the company price their motorcycles very competitively, as the CKD motorcycles fall in a lower tax bracket.
Benelli is going to launch its first five models in the next month. Dealers will start accepting bookings of the TNT 300, TNT 600GT, TNT 600i, TNT 899 and the TNT 1130 on March 10, while the prices are going to be revealed on March 19. With such a wide range of motorcycles, the Italian manufacturer aims to grab a bite of the lucrative premium motorcycle segments of the world’s second largest two-wheeler market.
