Benelli has announced its intentions of widening its footprint to 18 more cities across the country, this year. With 17 showrooms already operational, this aggressive expansion plan should push the total number of dealerships in India to 35, before the end of this calendar year.
With this expansion, Benelli aims to sell 4,500 motorcycles by the end of 2017, up from the 2,500 units it has managed so far. Benelli's dealerships are designed keeping in mind the benchmarks which meet the International CI standards of Benelli’s global showrooms. These dealerships also integrate a service centre, which offers 24x7 on call breakdown service. The showrooms are designed not only as point of sales, but as a platform for motorcycling enthusiasts to come together and interact with other like minded people.
Benelli entered into a partnership with Pune-based DSK motowheels in 2014 to sell its motorcycles in the Indian market. Benelli has a wide range of motorcycles in its portfolio, starting from the quarter-litre TNT 25 priced at Rs 1.75 lakh going all the way up to the litre-class streetfighter, the TNT R which demands a premium of Rs 11.81 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi). Within a short span of just 14 months, the company has achieved record sales numbers in cities like Bangalore and Chennai, thanks to its lucrative pricing and exotic appeal. With this aggressive expansion plan in place, Benelli will now target dethroning Harley-Davidson as the country's biggest premium motorcycle manufacturer.
