Benelli has finally released the official video of its most awaited motorcycle – the Tornado 302R. Based on its naked sibling – the TNT 300, this super sport motorcycle was first unveiled at 2015 EICMA Show.
The official video sees the Tornado 302R being ridden on various roads. However, the Italian manufacturer has focused a lot on the exhaust note of the bike. Almost all Benelli bikes sound really nice and that’s why it has a major fan following in India. With the Tornado 302R, the company wants to target buyers who are looking for an affordable fully-faired bike but at the same time love the sound that approximates the noise of an inline four.
This bike is powered by a parallel twin cylinder engine which produces 36bhp at 12,000rpm and 27Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm. Transmission is a six-speed one. Built around a trestle frame, the Tornado features 41mm upside down forks up front and on the rear swing arm, a monoshock with adjustable preload. It sports Metzeler tyres, alloy wheels, a 260mm disc up front and a 240mm disc for the rear.
DSK Benelli will launch the Tornado 302R in India next month at an expected price of approximately Rs 3.3 lakh. It will be assembled in India and will be sold across 22 showrooms – the highest for any premium bike maker in the country.
