Benelli India recently launched the TRK 502 and its adventure-focussed model, the TRK 502X. The TRK 502 is a touring based motorcycle that has been priced at Rs 5 lakhs (ex-showroom, India) which is the introductory price for the online bookings of the motorcycle. The TRK 502 has a beak-like design which looks intimidating and aggressive. It features twin headlamp design with LED DRLs positioned under the lamps. It also gets LED turn indicators and a large windscreen.
The motorcycle comes equipped with 50mm inverted forks to take care of suspension duties at the front. Besides that, crash guards to protect the fairing are located on either side which is a part of the standard package.
The middle-weight tourer is powered by a 500cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled DOHC motor with fuel injection. The engine is capable of producing 47bhp of power and 46Nm of peak torque. The motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
For braking, the motorcycle employs 320mm duals discs up front paired with four-pot radial calipers.
The TRK 502 features a semi-digital instrument console positioned behind the windscreen which features an analogue tachometer on the left and a digital screen on the right for other information.
The motorcycle has a split-seat design wherein the seat height for the rider has been set at 800mm.
Compared to the touring model which receives an upswept exhaust, the touring based TRK 502 comes with a more compact exhaust unit that ends after the right footpeg.
Being touring-based, the TRK 502 comes shod with Pirelli touring tyres mounted on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends.
