The TRK 502 is Benelli’s attempt to attract buyers who are looking for an adventure touring motorcycle. We recently rode its touring version in Chikmagalur. Here’s a photo gallery of the Benelli TRK 502 from our launch ride.
The TRK 502 has a prominent front-end with a beak-type fairing with several contours that give it an aggressive and a perched-up stance.
The motorcycle features a twin headlamp setup with LED DRLs nested between the front mudguard and windscreen.
The bike sports a large 20-litre fuel tank, thus resulting in fewer stops at a fuel station.
The instrument console on the TRK 502 features a large analogue tachometer on one side and LCD screen on the other side, displaying information like speed, gear position, fuel level, coolant temperature, time, an odometer and two trip meters.
The motorcycle rides on beefy 50mm inverted forks up front and a monoshock at the back. The front is non-adjustable but the rear gets rebound and preload adjustment.
For braking, the TRK 502 comes with 320mm dual discs up front with radial 4-pot calipers and a 260mm single disc with a single-pot floating caliper at the back.
Powering the motorcycle is a 500cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled DOHC motor that is capable of producing 47bhp of max power at 8,500rpm and 46Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The TRK 502 has a tall windscreen which helps to cut the wind blast at three-digit speeds. But, it isn’t adjustable. And, even the vision through the visor is not clear.
The motorcycle sports 17-inch alloy wheel shod with Pirelli Angel GT touring tyres.
Benelli has priced the TRK 502 at Rs 5 lakhs ex-showroom thus undercutting its closest rival, the Kawasaki Versys 650, by a good margin.
