Benelli shocked everyone by unveiling the TRK 502 at the EICMA 2015. This adventure motorcycle has been specifically developed to meet the growing demand in the middleweight touring segment. The TRK 502 is one of the first bikes to be powered by Benelli’s new 500cc engine. While the official launch of this new Italian adventure bike is at least six months away, we bring you a picture gallery to quench your thirst.
The TRK 502 is Benelli’s first motorcycle in the middleweight adventure segment. With this bike, the Italian manufacturer plans to capture a major share of the segment in the developing markets.
It is powered by a new 500cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 47bhp and 45Nm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox that transfers power to the rear wheel via a chain drive.
The Benelli TRK 502 is equipped with ABS and has 320mm dual discs at the front and 260 mm discs at the rear. The TRK 502 gets 19-inch Metzeler tyres up front and a 17-inch rear tyre.
In design terms, the TRK 502 looks rugged and tough which are the basic aspects of an adventure motorcycle.
Fuel tank capacity stands at 20-litre which is adequate for an adventure motorcycle. The bike is equipped with LED headlight, tall windscreen and muscular hand guards.
The Benelli TRK 502 has a ground clearance of 230mm. However, the seat height is quite low at 815mm making it quite easy for average Indian riders.
Suspension duties for the bike are taken care by a 50mm long travel upside town fork at the front and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the rear.
The TRK 502 will be launched in India in the next financial year after the global launch. It will be sold as a completely-knocked-down (CKD) model and will be priced competitively.
