What is it?
The Benelli TRK 502 is a middle-weight adventure motorcycle developed to meet the demand of the growing number of tourers in India. This motorcycle is built around the traditional Benelli steel trellis frame. Interestingly, the TRK 502 is powered by a new 500cc twin-cylinder engine. This mill produces close 47bhp and 45Nm of torque and is paired to a six-speed gearbox. This new engine is expected to power future Benelli bikes.
The rugged look of the TRK 502 is its USP and we quite like it. The Benelli TRK 502 is equipped with ABS and has 320mm dual discs at the front and 260 mm disc at the rear. The TRK 502 gets 19-inch Metzeler tyres up front and a 17-inch rear tyre. Fuel tank capacity stands at 20-litre which is adequate for an adventure motorcycle. The bike is equipped with LED headlight, tall windscreen and muscular hand guards.
India relevance?
The TRK 502 is the most relevant bike for the Indian market. With its capability to go off road and explore new place, the TRK 502 is surely going to be hit among the Indian consumers. In terms of competition, it has the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Triumph Tiger 800XR to deal with.
Launch plans?
Yes, the Benelli TRK 502 will be launched in India this calendar year. While the showcased bike is not exactly a production ready, but Benelli has assured us that the final production bike will very close to the concept.
