- Benelli TRK 502 502X could get fully-digital LCD display
- Likely to get a revised seat and rear view mirrors as well
Benelli is likely to update the TRK 502 and TRK 502X adventure-touring siblings with a fully-digital instrument cluster, as per a document released by a Chinese website. The source also mentions that the motorcycle will get an updated seat and rear view mirrors.
The Benelli TRK 502 is named the Qianjiang BJ500SGS in China. At present, the motorcycle comes equipped with a dated-looking semi-digital instrument cluster with an analogue tachometer and a small LCD display for other data. A fully-digital LCD display will definitely raise its desirability quotient. As for the changes in the seat, Benelli might try to make the already-comfortable TRK twins further spacious and comfy.
The Benelli TRK 502 and the 502X will reportedly continue to be powered by the same 500cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor. While it currently produces 46.8bhp and 46Nm, the BS6-compliant version might see a marginal change in power figures.
Riding on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends, the TRK 502 gets upside down forks and a monoshock along with twin discs up front and a single disc at the rear. Meanwhile, the adventure-oriented X version gets spoke wheels at both ends, with a 17-inch unit at the rear and a larger 19-inch wheel at the front. Both are built around the same steel trellis frame.
As we had reported earlier, Benelli will launch the BS6 Imperiale 400, its first BS6-compliant two-wheeler this month. The rest of the models will follow suit in the proceeding days. Now, it remains to be seen whether the aforementioned updates are introduced in the TRK siblings with the BS6 update or they come at a later stage.
