- Will be assembled in India
- Expect aggressive pricing
Benelli’s most awaited products, the TRK 502 and the TRK 502X will finally be launched in India on 18 February. This will be the first launch post the new alliance forged between Benelli and Mahavir Group’s Adishwar Auto Ride India.
There’s a sudden increase in demand for touring and adventure bikes in India. These two bikes are expected to bring some good numbers for the brand as they could be priced competitively. The TRK 502 is a touring model with 17-inch alloy wheels and road-biased tyres. The TRK 502X, on the other hand, is an adventure bike that gets spoke wheels, a 19-inch wheel in the front and 17-inch at the rear with dual-sport tyres. Other than this, the rest of the cycle parts are common for both the bikes.
The TRK 502X and the TRK 502 are powered by a 500cc parallel-twin engine which produces 47bhp and 45Nm of torque. To boost its touring capability, the bike gets a 20-litre fuel tank capacity. The bikes further get 50mm upside down front forks and adjustable rear monoshock while braking is handled by a pair of 320mm front discs and a 260mm rear disc along with the dual-channel ABS.
Benelli could price the TRK 502 range between Rs 4.7 lakhs and Rs 6 lakhs (ex-showroom). Such pricing might help the company bring in good numbers, as its nearest rivals, the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Suzuki V-Strom are priced on the higher side.
