Benelli has introduced the off-road biased TRK 502 X in the Indian market to rival against the likes of Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT and the Honda CB500X. Here we list the top five highlights of the TRK 502 X BS6.
Design
The BS6 variant of the TRK 502 X retains the styling cues from its predecessor. Thus, the motorcycle continues to feature a twin-pod headlight, a beak-style design, a semi-fairing, knuckle guards, a tall-windscreen, and a split-seat setup. Similar to its road-biased version, the TRK 502, the X variant, too, gets an updated instrument cluster that features a revised layout. The motorcycle rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. The TRK 502, for reference, uses 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends. The updated model also benefits from a backlit switchgear, adjustable handlebar, and redesigned mirrors.
Colours
The TRK 502 X will be available in three colours – Metallic Dark Grey, Pure White, and Benelli Red. The latter two carry a price premium of Rs 10,000 over the Metallic Dark Grey.
Price
The Metallic Dark Grey colour of the BS6-compliant model has been launched at Rs 5,19,900 while the Pure White and Benelli Red paint options are available at Rs 5,29,900. Do note that these are introductory prices. The motorcycle comes with a three-year/unlimited kilometres warranty as standard.
Engine
The mechanical specifications retain a 500cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor that, despite complying with the BS6 emission norms, continues to deliver 46.8bhp of maximum power at 8,500rpm and 46Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
Hardware
The underpinnings, too, remain similar to the BS4 version and the latest iteration of the TRK 502 X continues to use a steel trellis frame. The suspension setup comprises upside-down front forks and a rebound and preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. The anchoring tasks are handled by twin, 320mm discs at the front and a single 260mm rotor at the back while the safety net includes dual-channel ABS.
