- Second hike over the last two months
- Rs 10,000 more expensive now
It was just two months back that Benelli had increased the prices of its quarter-litre adventure tourer, the TRK 251, by Rs 3,000 in India. While that seemed like a marginal hike, the one it has received this month doesn’t. The company has increased the prices of TRK 251 by as much as Rs 10,000! As a result, the grey colour of the motorcycle costs Rs 2.64 lakh while the black and white paint schemes set you back by Rs 2.74 lakh.
The closest rivals of the Benelli TRK 251 happen to be the KTM 250 Adventure and the new Suzuki V-Strom SX. These bikes were already cheaper than the TRK and the latest price increment has widened the gap further. The KTM 250 Adventure is priced at Rs 2.36 lakh while the Suzuki V-Strom SX is even more affordable at Rs 2.12 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom).
Talking about the technical specifications of the TRK, it is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 25.47bhp and 21.2Nm. The kerb weight of the motorcycle stands at 164kg which makes it lighter than its aforementioned rivals. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are suspended by USD forks and a monoshock while braking is handled by a single disc at both ends. The list of features includes full-LED lighting, an LCD dash, dual-channel ABS, and an 18-litre fuel tank.
