-Powered by a 3.5kW motor
-Hits a top speed of 75kmph
The BGauss RUV 350 has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 1.10 lakh, ex-showroom. The electric scooter is available in three variants- RUV 350i, RUV 350 EX and RUV 350 Max. The 'EX' is priced at Rs 1.25 lakh while the top-spec 'MX' variant will set you back by Rs 1.35 lakh.
RUV stands for ‘Rider Utility Vehicle’ and it is BGauss’ latest flagship electric scooter. It looks quite similar to the BGauss D15 Pro, however, the similarities are only limited to the body panels while the rest of the scooter is all new, says the company.
Powering the RUV 350 is a 3.5kW electric motor that makes a peak torque of 165Nm and is capable of propelling the scooter to a top speed of 75kmph. It has a 3kWh, lithium LFP battery that is IP67 rated and BGauss claims that it offers a range of 120km on a single charge. The range drops to 90km in the case of the RUV 350 EXi and RUV 350 EX.
The scooter will be shipped with a 500W charger that takes five hours to charge the battery upto 80 percent.
The design of the scooter is reminiscent of step-through scooters that you see in many South East Asian countries. The shape of the metal body panels is designed in such a way that functionality is prioritised over form. What catches your eye is the bright-coloured, 16-inch alloy wheels. The large size of the wheels should give the scooter better ability to tackle broken and sometimes non-existent roads, especially in some parts of the country.
Moving on to the hardware, the RUV 350 has a micro-alloy tubular frame that’s suspended by a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers at the back. Braking duties are taken care of by drum brakes at both ends.
BGauss has thrown in a decent set of features on the top two trims of the scooter. The list includes a five-inch TFT with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, incoming call alerts, and ride stats. It also gets cruise control, reverse mode, hill hold, and regenerative braking. The base variant makes do with a simple segmented LCD display and none of the aforementioned features.
The BGauss RUV 350 goes up against the Ola S1 range, Ather 450S, AtherRizta and the TVS iQube.
