-Utilitarian offering from BGauss
-Likely based on the BGauss D15 electric scooter
-Expected to be priced above Rs 1 lakh
BGauss, the Chakan based electric scooter manufacturer, has announced that it will launch the new RUV350 on 25 June. The BGauss RUV350 is designed to be utilitarian and functional, with emphasis on being able to handle the rough and sometimes non-existent roads in parts of India, especially the rural areas.
The silhouette of the scooter that was teased to announce the imminent launch hints at a design that prioritises functionality. This is clearly evident from the shape of the body panels, the large floorboard and what appears to be 16-inch wheels. Larger wheels mean more stability and control over poor road surfaces, which is why some adventure motorcycles are equipped with a 21-inch front wheel. In comparison to the BGauss’ 16-inch wheel setup, scooters usually have 12-inch wheels which don’t offer the same levels of stability as larger wheels.
This USP aside, the BGauss RUV350 is likely to have a simple chassis setup consisting of an underbone frame that is suspended by a telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers at the back. Braking duties will be taken care of by drum brakes at both ends.
Expect a basic features list such as all-LED lights and a fully digital instrument console. BGauss may also offer app based features with the scooter like geo fencing, scooter location tracking, ride stats and more.
The BGauss RUV350 is likely to be priced above the Rs 1 lakh, ex-showroom mark.
