- Bigger Tenere 900 could be under development
- May use the engine from MT-09
- Likely to be unveiled later this year
Yamaha could be working on creating a bigger and more powerful version of its highly successful adventure motorcycle – the Tenere 700.
According to a report, the Japanese brand could be working on giving it a bigger 890cc CP3 engine. It’s the same engine that powers MT-09, Tracer 9 Sports, and the XSR900. This new rumoured motorcycle makes sense for the market as the XT1200Z is no longer sold, thus filling its void.
As of now, there are barely any details on this Tenere 900 but looks like it may get a 19-inch spoke wheel at the front, indicating its road-friendliness. The bike could also be equipped with various techs, like riding modes and a multi-level traction control system.
We can expect Yamaha to share some details on this ADV closer to this year's end. This is also the time for the EICMA show, where the Japanese brand could unveil this motorcycle, at least in the concept form.
