BMW Motorrad has given Indians their first taste of a true-blue maxi-scooter in the form of the C 400GT. The scooter is special for several reasons and we have listed them all in our first ride review of the C 400GT. As for this post, let’s check out the images of the maxi-scooter from the review hand-picked by us for you all.
With geometric design lines and muscular panels, the C400 GT looks truly futuristic and unusual. It’s also the largest scooter the Indian market has ever seen with a tall windscreen and burly proportions of its body panels.
As big as the C400 GT is, the comfort it delivers is equally wholesome. There’s a large stepped seat with enough room to accommodate even large-sized individuals with ease. Then the footrest provision is split into two parts – one for a relaxed stretched-out leg position and the other for a more upright posture.
BWM has also given deep thought to the rider’s convenience. There’s a fuel filler cap located at the front, on the centre spine above which there are two small-sized, lockable storage provisions along with a keyless ignition system.
It’s also advanced in terms of technology. For instance, the cockpit area houses a 6.5-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster which, of course, is Bluetooth-enabled. Besides showing a host of information, it has a turn-by-turn navigation system and can manage calls and music playback.
The scooter also has a 31-litre under-seat storage space with BMW’s signature FlexCase set-up that expands the boot’s depth to allow storing a full-face helmet.
Powering the C400 GT is a 350cc, water-cooled motor that churns out 33.5bhp of power and 35Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a CVT transmission system. The scooter can achieve a respectable top speed of 140kmph.
With high performance, BMW has also paid attention to safety by equipping the scooter with Automatic Stability Control which is essentially BMW’s traction control system. It helps in controlling the unwanted slides while leaning in the scooter.
As exotic as the C400 GT is, the maxi-scooter is priced equally exorbitantly. BWM has pegged it at Rs 10.40 lakh (ex-showroom) which makes it more expensive than many premium motorcycles as well.
