-Launch on 1 October
-CE 02 is BMW’s new urban electric scooter
-Has a range of 90km with the twin battery setup
The BMW CE 02 electric scooter will be launched on 1 October. The new, urban runabout will slot below the recently launched BMW CE 04 electric scooter and is aimed at those looking to commute in the confines of a city. This is quite evident in the design of the scooter as well as the range that its batteries offer.
One look at the CE 02 is enough to showcase the blend of form and function in its design. There are barely any bodypanels to speak of. It essentially appears to be designed around a battery and motor.
Speaking of, the scooter has an air-cooled synchronous motor that is powered by a 2kWh battery. Customers can choose a dual battery setup as well by adding another 2kWh battery. So, effectively, the BMW CE 02 has a range of 45km and a top speed of 45kmph in the single battery setup. The range jumps to 90km with the addition of the second battery while the top speed rises to 95kmph.
The CE 02 employs a double-loop steel frame that is suspended by a USD and an adjustable monoshock. The scooter rides on 14-inch wheels while braking duties are taken care of by a 239mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear.
The instrument cluster is a 3.5-inch micro TFT display with basic connectivity. Also, there are two ride modes-Surf and Flow.
Thew BMW CE 02 will be priced at a premium considering the badge it wears. We expect it to sit above the BMW G 310 range of bikes, somewhere between Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
