- New CE 02 electric scooter launch soon
- Teasers have been revealed on social media
- Likely to be priced around Rs 5 lakh
BMW Motorrad will launch its premium electric scooter – the CE 02 in India this month. The company has released a few teaser pictures on its social media accounts confirming the same.
The BMW CE 02 is an urban EV manufactured by TVS at its Hosur facility and exported worldwide. This EV platform has been co-developed with the German brand. However, as part of this deal, TVS will manufacture the CE 02 and use some of its tech for its own products. The idea behind the CE range of EVs is to build a premium brand with clean energy and also position it as an urban product that helps BMW build a new set of buyers worldwide.
The CE 02 is powered by a 2kWh battery with options to choose from a single or a dual battery setup. This means the scooter offers 90km of range and a 95kmph top speed or a 45km range and 45kmph top speed depending on the setup. Like CE 04, this two-wheeler has some modern features and styling that make it extremely aspirational.
BMW is likely to price the CE 02 around Rs 5 lakh, making it one of the most expensive scooters in India. It also sells the CE 04 in the country at Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom) and this one is a completely built-up (CBU) unit.
