A test mule of BMW’s adventure touring version of the G310 has been spotted undergoing trials in Europe. Rumoured to be christened as G310GS, this motorcycle sported pannier mounts and a luggage box on its tail giving us a clear idea of what to expect from the motorcycle.
The styling of the BMW G310 GS draws influence from its elder siblings. While this specific test mule sported alloy wheels, we can expect BMW to offer this motorcycle with spoked wheels for those who wish to go off road more often. The raised suspension, minimal bodywork, sleek profile and the upright seating should offer it the versatility of being a decent off roader while being comfortable on long hauls. The G310 GS will be offered with a host of touring-friendly customisation options like panniers, hand guards and engine guards.
At the heart is the same 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit from the streetfighter developing 34 horsepower. As KTM’s Duke 390-based adventure motorcycle is not expected to be ready before 2019, the G310 GS will only have the Royal Enfield Himalayan as its competition.
