BMW Motorrad dropped a surprise package at the EICMA 2024 by introducing the new BMW F 450 GS concept bike. The company says that the bike is quite close to production and is likely to be launched in 2025. Here is a look at the detailed images of the F 450 GS.
The styling of the bike borrows design cues from the big BMW GS’ like the R 1300 GS. The angular beak to the neatly designed radiator shrouds or the large fuel tank and the slim side and tail section, the F 450 GS is instantly recognisable as a BMW GS.
The concept bike is finished in a rather fetching white, blue and red colour that is inspired by the Trophy variants of the big GS bikes.
At the heart of the matter, there is a brand new, parallel twin engine. This engine develops 48bhp and BMW says that because of a ‘never-before-used’ ignition offset, is happy to rev while being quite characterful.
The engine is also said to be pretty lightweight and this was achieved by using materials such as magnesium.
BMW has developed a new chassis for the F 450 GS. The aim was to make a lightweight chassis that offers agility and nimbleness on the road while being tough enough to withstand the demands of the riding off-road.
The concept F 450 GS has a fully adjustable USD fork and a monoshock with load-dependent damping. The bike tips the scales at 175kg and will be available with either a 19-inch front / 17-inch rear alloy wheel setup or tubeless wire-spoke wheels.
Braking duties, meanwhile, are taken care of by a disc brake at the front and a disc brake at the rear.
In terms of features, the bike has all-LED lights, cornering ABS, ride modes and more. All the settings can be controlled using the 6.5-inch TFT display that also features Bluetooth connectivity.
