-Will comply with new, more stringent emission norms
-The bike will be made in India
The BMW F 450 GS adventure bike is likely to be launched in India in mid-2025. The middleweight ADV is currently under development, although BMW recently showcased the concept F 450 GS at the EICMA. The F 450 GS will also meet the new, stricter emission standards that are set to come into effect in mid-2025.
The styling of the bike borrows design cues from the big BMW GS’ like the R 1300 GS. From the angular beak to the neatly designed radiator shrouds or the large fuel tank and the slim side and tail section, the F 450 GS is instantly recognisable as a BMW GS.
At the heart of the matter, there is a brand new, parallel twin engine. This engine develops 48bhp and BMW says that because of a ‘never-before-used’ ignition offset, is happy to rev while being quite characterful.
The concept F 450 GS has a fully adjustable USD fork and a monoshock with load-dependent damping. The bike tips the scales at 175kg and will be available with either a 19-inch front / 17-inch rear alloy wheel setup or tubeless wire-spoke wheels.
Braking duties, meanwhile, are taken care of by a disc brake at the front and a disc brake at the rear.
