BMW recently launched the F 900 R in India with a price tag of Rs 9.90 lakh; making it the most affordable big bike from the German manufacturer in the country. While we have highlighted its top features in another article, here we bring to you details of the BMW F 900 R through this image gallery.
The BMW F 900 R draws its styling cues from the manufacturer’s ‘Roadster’ family and the R 1250 R in particular.
So it sports a low-slung, full-LED headlamp, muscular 13-litre fuel tank along with sharp and well-designed tank extensions. Moreover, it also gets a stubby, upswept tail section with the tail lamp integrated into the number plate holder.
As for features, the motorcycle is loaded with gizmos like a 6.5-inch full-colour TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity. BMW has equipped the F 900 R with riding aids like traction control and two modes- Rain and Road as standard.
But if you would want some more technology, the optional Riding Mode Pro package will get you two additional riding modes, cruise control, Dynamic ESA (electronic suspension), cornering lights, cornering ABS as well as keyless ignition.
Powering the BMW F 900 R is the same 895cc, parallel-twin engine found on the F 850 GS. However, tuned to cater to its streetfighter characteristics, the F 900 R’s motor churns out 99bhp at 8500rpm and 90.8Nm at 6500rpm.
The motorcycle tips the scale at 211kg and rides on 43mm upside-down forks along with a preload and rebound adjustable mono-shock at the rear. Meanwhile braking hardware consists of a pair of 320m discs upfront and a 265mm disc at the rear.
Bookings for the BMW F 900 R have already begun across India. Furthermore, the manufacturer has also announced a 3-year unlimited warranty with the motorcycle.
