- F900 XR and F850 GS as alternatives
BMW Motorrad India launched the 2022 F850 GS, GSA and F900 XR in the country recently. And with the re-entry of these motorcycles, the F900 R and F750 GS have been temporarily discontinued here.
The reason for the F750 GS being taken off the shelves is the incredible pricing of the new F850 GS. Priced at Rs 12.50 lakh, ex-showroom, it undercuts the Triumph Tiger 900 and Ducati Multistrada 950 by a substantial margin and comes with the top-spec Pro kit as standard too. That said, it is also more capable off the road compared to the F750 GS thanks to the spoke wheels it rides on. Another possible reason is the new F900 XR which is priced almost similarly at Rs 12.30 lakh and does nearly everything the F750 GS could, resulting in a clash of purposes within the brand.
As for the F900 R naked, BMW Motorrad already has three offerings in that price range with similar displacement and features. Nonetheless, since the discontinuation is said to be temporary, the manufacturer is likely to bring them back, although the chances of that happening in the near future appear slim.
