BMW has launched the F750GS and F850GS at Rs 12.2 lakhs and Rs 13.7 lakhs (ex-showroom, India) respectively.
The F750GS and F850GS feature styling similar to their predecessors although they get a redesigned sharper fairing. The fuel-tank is now situated in the conventional position rather than the earlier, under-the-seat tank. The bikes also get a new LED headlamp setup and a 6.5-inch TFT screen that serves as an instrument console.
The bikes use a revised beam-type frame and tubular steel sub-frame with the 853cc parallel-twin engine as a stressed member. Interestingly, both the F750GS and F850GS use the same engine however with different power outputs. The F750GS gets 75bhp while the F850GS gets a 93bhp power output.
On the other hand, while the F750GS is built specifically for the road and gets alloy wheels with road biased tyres, the F850GS gets spoke wheels with dual-sport tyres, knuckle guards, fork protectors and a taller windscreen to make it off-road capable. The bikes’ electronic package includes ABS, cruise control, quickshifter, traction control, four riding modes with an additional ‘Enduro Pro’ mode on the F850GS.
The BMW F750GS and F850GS will go head on against the Triumph Tiger 800 range in India.
