- BMW F900XR teased in a video
- Sports a 900cc parallel-twin engine
- Likely to be priced at Rs 12 lakh
BMW Motorrad has released a teaser video of the F900XR in some of their social media channels. This teaser clearly suggests the company’s plan of launching this touring motorcycle in India.
The F900XR has been built for long distance touring. It borrows the design and overall dynamic aspects from the litre-class sibling, the S1000XR. The F900XR has a sporty riding stance that is combined with the upright riding dynamics of the GS. Besides that, the motorcycle comes with top-class features like adaptive cornering lighting, keyless ride or intelligent emergency call to name a few. Both motorcycles come equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT screen and adaptive cornering light with LED lighting as standard.
The F900XR is powered by a 895cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that makes around 104bhp of peak power. The torque figure stands at 92Nm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox that transfers power to the rear-wheel via a chain drive. Just like most of the other BMWs, this bike too is loaded with good amount of safety electronics. The bike is equipped with Rain and Road riding modes. Meanwhile, the Dynamic and Dynamic Pro riding modes are available along with riding aids like Dynamic Traction Control DTC, banking capable ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and the new engine drag torque control (MSR).
The F900XR is expected to be priced between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 14 lakh and is likely to be available in multiple colour options. This BMW doesn’t have a direct rival in India, but it can take some sales away from the ADV segment.
