BMW Motorrad has confirmed that the G 310 R and G 310 GS will be launched in India very soon. The prices will be announced in the next couple of weeks, although deliveries will commence only by mid-2018.
BMW Motorrad made its Indian debut in 2017, and sold 252 motorcycles in the last year. While the G 310 R was production ready back then, the company wanted to take a top-down approach for its products. Satisfied with the way its premium models are performing here, the company has now decided to go ahead with the launch of the G 310 R and the G 310 GS. As of now, the brand has seven dealerships across the country, and the number will touch 10 by the end of the financial year.
While 10 might seem a very small number for a manufacturer entering the sub-500cc segment, BMW Motorrad never wanted to position these bikes as mass-market products. As such, we can expect the brand to demand a premium for these bikes. Volumes have never been a priority for BMW Motorrad, and the exclusivity might even contribute towards boosting its appeal.
