- Bookings to be open at dealerships and online

BMW Motorrad India will commence the pre-bookings for its entry-level models, the G 310 R and the G 310 GS in the country from 1 September 2020. Interested buyers can book the motorcycles through BMW Motorrad dealerships or through the company’s website. While the company has confirmed the pre-bookings date, it is yet to reveal the launch details. We expect the motorcycles to be launched in September while deliveries could commence in early-October 2020.
The company has also released teaser images of the two motorcycles along with the press announcement. While the teaser photographs do not show many details, spy shots of the G 310 duo have already emerged multiple times, revealing the changes that motorcycles will receive. The updated models will benefit from full LED lighting. In comparison, their previous iterations were equipped with a halogen bulb. BMW Motorrad will also revise the design of the headlamp cluster and side panels on the BS6 models.
The hardware specifications will continue to feature upside-down telescopic forks and preload-adjustable mono-shock at the back. The braking setup will include disc brakes on both wheels while the safety net will comprise of dual-channel ABS. The GS version will come with a switchable ABS.
Details about the mechanical specifications are scarce, although we do not expect to see major changes to the displacement or the engine layout. The BS4-compliant models, for reference, used a 312cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that delivered 33bhp of power and 28Nm of torque.
The updated models are likely to carry a price premium over their respective BS4 iterations. The old versions of the G 310 R and the G 310 GS were priced at Rs 2.99 lakh and Rs 3.49 lakh respectively.
