BMW Motorrad has launched the adventure touring version of the G310 R streetfighter in the UK. The bike is priced at GBP 5,100 (Rs 4.45 lakhs) – that’s an increase of GBP 650 (INR 56,739) compared to the G310 R.
The India-made G310 GS is powered by a 313cc single cylinder water cooled engine which delivers 34bhp of peak power and 28Nm of peak torque. The bike derives its styling from the bigger R 1200 GS, features 41mm inverted forks up front and a preload adjustable rear monoshock both with 180mm suspension travel. The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels are wrapped in dual-purpose Metzeler Tourance tyres. It features switchable ABS unlike the G310 R. BMW also offers optional hard case panniers and top case.
We would not be seeing the G310 GS this year as the bike will only be launched after the G310 R, whose launch has been postponed to early next year. When it arrives on Indian shores, the GS will rival against the Royal Enfield Himalayan until the Kawasaki Versys-X300 and the upcoming KTM 390-based adventure bike are launched here.
