BMW Motorrad has announced the launch of its third G310-series motorcycle, the G310 RR in the Indian market. This motorcycle is the rebadged version of the TVS Apache RR310 and it uses the exact same design, specifications, and features, sans the Bluetooth connectivity. It does, however, get different paint themes than the TVS Apache RR310 along with BMW badges and G310 RR branding across the bodywork. The new BMW G310 RR is available in two variants – Standard and Style Sport and they have been priced at Rs 2.85 lakh and Rs 2.99 lakh, respectively. Here we list the alternatives that potential buyers can consider in the same price range.
TVS Apache RR310 (Rs 2.65 lakh)
Buyers can opt for the TVS Apache RR310, which is exactly the same motorcycle as the G310 RR, albeit at a lower price tag. The Apache RR310, despite its Rs 20,000 lower ex-showroom price tag, gets better tyres and Bluetooth connectivity. Other features on the Apache RR310 include full-LED lighting, colour-TFT display, four riding modes, and dual-channel ABS. The styling cues include a twin-pod headlight, full-fairing, five-spoke alloy wheels, split seats, and a side-slung exhaust. The Apache RR310 uses a 312.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 33.5bhp at 9,700rpm and 27.3Nm at 7,700rpm.
BMW G 310 R (Rs 2.70 lakh)
The G310 RR’s roadster version is available at a marginally higher price tag than the Apache RR310, and it is Rs 15,000 cheaper than the G310 RR. This version of the BMW G310 range gets features such as full-LED lighting and a dual-channel ABS. However, unlike the fully-faired model, the G310 R misses a colour-TFT display and instead uses an LCD unit. The mechanical specifications, on the other hand, are identical to the G310 RR, and the entry-level model from BMW Motorrad uses a 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that produces 33.5bhp at 9,250rpm and 28Nm at 7,500rpm.
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 (Rs 2.89 lakh)
The most-affordable variant of the Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650 is available in the same price range as the G310 RR. While the Interceptor INT 650 does not pack as many features as the G310 RR, it does get a higher displacement, twin-cylinder motor. The 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine on the Royal Enfield makes 47bhp at 7,250rpm and 52Nm of peak torque at 5,250rpm. The feature list on the Interceptor includes a halogen headlight, semi-digital instrument cluster, and dual-channel ABS.
KTM 390 Duke (Rs 2.94 lakh)
KTM’s feature-rich roadster is available in the same price range as the BMW G310 RR. This product from the Indian arm of the Austrian manufacturer packs full-LED lighting, Bluetooth-enabled colour-TFT screen, bidirectional quickshifter, and dual-channel ABS. It also packs better performance than the G310 RR. The 373.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine makes 42.9bhp at 9,000rpm and 37Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm.
BMW G 310 GS (Rs 3.10 lakh)
The most-expensive G310 series model is Rs 11,000 more expensive than the G310 RR Style Sport. The G310 GS is an adventure-tourer that packs relaxed ergonomics designed for long-distance riding. The feature list on the company’s most affordable adventure-tourer includes full-LED lighting, an LCD screen, and dual-channel ABS. The specifications include the same BS6-compliant, 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 33.5bhp at 9,250rpm and 28Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm.
