- BMW has sent official press conference invites
- G310R, G310GS likely to be launched on the same day
- Dealers are claiming Rs 3.35 lakhs, Rs 3.8 lakhs on-road for G310R and 310GS respectively
BMW Motorrad is likely to launch their 310cc twins, the G310R and the G310GS on 18th July. The German maker has shared a press conference invite for the mentioned date with BikeWale.
The bookings for these bikes had already begun at all BMW Motorrad showrooms on 8th June for a token amount of Rs 50,000 which is fully refundable. The deliveries will be done on first come first serve basis, with a booking to delivery time between 5-10 days.
The G310R was first unveiled to the world in 2015, whereas its adventure sibling, the G310GS was showcased in 2016. Both the bikes are made at TVS’ Hosur plant and exported to rest of the world. The German automaker is little late to the entry-level performance segment but wanted to get its sales and service reach right.
While the dealers are waiting for the official pricing, a few of them claimed that the G310R and the G310GS will have a price of around Rs 3.3 lakhs and Rs 3.6 lakhs on-road respectively. BMW knows that it needs to price their bikes really well, especially the G310R as its biggest rival, the KTM 390 Duke has an aggressive price tag of Rs 2.8 lakhs on-road. The G310GS’ KTM rival will be out next year, the 390 Adventure and that is expected to be priced well too, thanks to the India production.
