The BMW G310R has been finally unveiled in a press conference in Germany. This new motorcycle is expected to help BMW gain lot of market share globally and boost its profit. The G310R has been completely designed and developed by BMW in Germany but will be manufactured in TVS’ Hosur facility as per their alliance agreement. While we wait to see this bike in India, we bring you some pictures of the G310R.
The BMW G310R gets a new 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled heart. This mill produces 34bhp at 9500rpm and has a peak torque of 28Nm at 7500rpm. It gets a six-speed gearbox.
The S100RR and the R1200R were the design inspiration for the G310R. BMW claims that they wanted this new bike to have a family similarity.
The bike gets a tubular steel frame, upside-down fork and long swingarm for comfortable ride stability, precise steering response and handling.
The G310R is fitted with a two-channel ABS as standard. It gets a 300mm single-disc with radially bolted four-piston caliper at the front and a 240mm two-piston caliper at the rear.
The BMW G310R tips the scale at 158kgs. It has a low seat height of 785mm. However, the German manufacturer is also offering other seat options ranging from 760mm to 815mm.
Its LCD instrument cluster includes a speedometer, tachometer, gear indicator, odometer, engine temperature, fuel indicator, distance-to-empty and average fuel consumption.
BMW is offering saddle boxes, LED indicators, 12v charging socket, centrestand and heated grips as optional accessories.
A dedicated production area has been set aside in the factory for the manufacturing of the BMW G310R. Assembly will be carried out in a sealed area, which can be accessed via air locks.
The bike will be offered in four colours – black and white with silver highlights, metallic blue, grey and pearl white.
