The BMW G310 R has been spotted testing in Bengaluru. Expected to go on sale in India by mid-2017, this streetfighter will rival the likes of the KTM 390 Duke, Benelli TNT 25 and the Mahindra Mojo.
The completely undisguised test mule sported a blue/white livery. The raked headlamp, fuel tank extensions, exposed frame and the shrouds give the BMW G310 R the characteristic aggressive look of a streetfighter. Powering the BMW G310 R is a 311cc single-cylinder engine, which churns out 34bhp and 28Nm of torque. The engine gets a unique architecture, where the cylinder head is turned by 180 degrees, so the intake track is in the front. The G310 R rides on 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels shod with Michelin radials. ABS is offered as standard.
BMW Motorrad is expected to enter the Indian market officially in the next couple of months. The G310 R will be sold through BMW Motorrad showrooms along with the rest of the big bike range. We can also expect to see the G310 GS, an adventure touring version of the G310 R, roll off the production line before the end of this year.
