The BMW K1600 Bagger has been once again been spotted undergoing trials in Europe. The test mule sported lesser camouflage than the last time, giving us a clearer glimpse of what the production model might look like.
The K1600 Bagger test mule sported an additional top box behind the rear seat and pillion armrests from the K1600GTL Executive. The massive fairing has been restyled and now gets new mirrors and a larger adjustable windscreen. The chromed exhaust pipes have been redesigned to accommodate the new aerodynamic side panniers, while the engine now gets additional safeguards in the form of safety bars to protect it in case of a fall.
Mechanically, the K1600 Bagger will be similar to the standard model and will retain the inline six-cylinder 1649cc engine which produces 158bhp and 175Nm of torque. The K1600 Bagger was previously spotted testing in Germany, along with the liquid-cooled R1200R Roadster. And though the 2015 R1200R has already been unveiled, BMW seems to have saved this K1600 Bagger for a later date.
While such bagger models make up a very small percentage of total volumes in Europe, they have a huge following in the American market. The Honda Gold Wing-based F6B has been the sole contender in this lucrative segment sofar, though BMW now seems to be all set to give the Japanese manufacturer some competition with this K1600 Bagger.
