BMW Motorrad launched the updated version of its most expensive motorcycle in India yesterday, 28 June. It’s none other than the M 1000 RR. BMW has offered the bike in two variants, and here are five things that you should know about it.
What is the design of the 2023 BMW M 1000 RR like?
The 2023 BMW M 1000 RR looks much more aggressive and sportier than its predecessor. It is properly track-oriented when it comes to the overall design and hardware. BMW has given the M 1000 RR a new and sleeker fascia that houses the split LED headlight with an air intake in between. It’s topped by a bubble visor and gets aerodynamic appendages below.
The M 1000 RR is offered in two trims – standard and Competition. The latter comes with a BMW endurance chain, GPS lap trigger, carbon rear fender, aero wheel cover, air box cover, billet pack, and more. These bits help with weight reduction and make the bike look even more enticing.
What are the engine specifications of the new M 1000 RR?
The M 1000 RR draws power from a 999cc, inline, four-cylinder motor that dishes out 211bhp and 113Nm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox that comes with a bi-directional quickshifter and a slip-and-assist clutch. It gets BMW’s standard shift-cam technology too. The M 1000 RR is claimed to clock a top speed of 314kmph.
For reference, the S 1000 RR dishes out 206.51bhp and a torque of 113Nm from its 999cc, inline, four-cylinder engine. And the M 1000 RR’s rival, the Ducati Panigale V4 R, gets a 998cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 215bhp and 111.3Nm.

The M 1000 RR gets ABS, traction control, slide control, seven ride modes (Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro 1, 2, and 3), launch control, wheelie control, a steering stabiliser, cruise control, drop sensor, hill start, and more.
What is the hardware setup on the new M 1000 RR?
BMW has suspended the M 1000 RR on USD front forks with rebound, compression, and preload adjustability, and a fully adjustable rear monoshock. The braking hardware consists of dual 320mm front discs and a single 220mm rear unit with dual-channel ABS. The M 1000 RR rides on 17-inch carbon wheels.
How much does the updated M 1000 RR cost?
BMW has priced the M 1000 RR standard model at Rs. 49,00,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the Competition trim is priced at a whopping Rs. 55,00,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
