BMW Motorrad has launched its latest and most powerful sport offering for the Indian market, the 2023 M 1000 RR. As the name suggests, it’s the sportier version of the BMW’s fairly popular litre-class offering, the S 1000 RR. Here’s what the M-version has to offer.
The 2023 BMW M 1000 RR looks exceptionally aggressive and track-oriented. It’s being offered in two trims – standard and Competition. The former is priced at Rs. 49,00,000 and the latter Rs. 55,00,000 (both ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes the M 1000 RR BMW’s most expensive motorcycle as of now. It draws a bodywork similar to the S 1000 RR but comes with carbon-fibre bodywork, winglets, carbon wheels, and BMW’s signature M theme paint scheme.
The M 1000 RR draws power from a 999cc, inline, four-cylinder motor that dishes out 211bhp and 113Nm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox that comes with a bi-directional quickshifter and a slip-and-assist clutch. BMW Motorrad says that the M 1000 RR can clock a top speed of 314kmph. Keeping all this power under control is the vast list of rider aids that the bike comes with. It gets ABS, traction control, slide control, seven ride modes (Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro 1, 2, and 3), launch control, wheelie control, steering stabiliser, cruise control, drop sensor, hill start, and more. Then there’s the M-trim that comes with the BMW endurance chain, GPS lap trigger, carbon rear fender, aero wheel cover, air box cover, billet pack, and more.
The M 1000 RR rides on USD front forks with rebound, compression, and preload adjustability and the rear monoshock, too, offers the same. Then, the braking hardware on this bike comprises dual 320mm front discs and a single 220mm rear unit with dual-channel ABS. The M 1000 RR rides on 17-inch carbon wheels.
The 2023 BMW M 1000 RR standard model comes draped in Light White and the Competition model is coloured in Black Storm Metallic. It rivals the Ducati Panigale V4 R in India. However, the Italian offering costs notably more at Rs. 69.99 lakh (ex-showroom, PAN India).
