BMW Motorrad has recorded its best ever quarterly sales figures in the first three months of 2015.Between January to March, the German manufacturer sold 31,370 two-wheelers registering a 9.2 per cent jump in numbers recorded over the same period in the last year.
Commenting on these numbers, Mr Heiner Faust, head of sales and marketing, BMW Motorrad said, “BMW Motorrad has started into the new 2015 motorcycle season with the best first quarterly sales of all time. For the first time ever in the history of BMW Motorrad we have supplied more than 31,000 vehicles to our customers in the first three months which corresponds to a significant plus of 9.2 per cent.”
In March 2015 alone, BMW sold 15,912 motorcycles and scooters which is 4.8 per cent more than it sold in March 2014. With a quarterly sales figure of 5,369 units, Germany continues to be BMW Motorrad’s strongest single market. BMW’s sales have been driven by the growing popularity of the R1200 GS enduro and the R1200 GS Adventure of which the company has collectively sold more than 10,000 units so far.
