Looks like the Ducati XDiavel has piqued the interest of many European bike manufacturers. If rumours are to be believed then we might see an XDiavel rival coming from BMW Motorrad.
As per a German website, BMW is quite surprised by the kind of attention and interest the XDiavel has got and would like to have a presence in the power cruiser segment. Just like Ducati, BMW is planning to build a motorcycle that has some connection to the current line-up, instead of doing an all-new cruiser. The company had already showcased the Concept 101 last year, which has a 1649cc displacement. There might be a slight chance of the company taking some design inspiration from this bagger concept.
In terms of its engines, BMW has a lot of options to play with – starting from the boxer-twin engine all the way to the inline-four motor from the S1000RR. But cruisers generally need that low-end punch, so we believe the German engineers will use some torquey motor.
It’ll be interesting to see how this motorcycle turns up. We hope to see some of the prototypes soon and when we do, we’ll surely give you more information on this new BMW cruiser.
