BMW Motorrad has announced that the F 750 GS and the F 850 GS are going to be launched in India on 7 February, at the 2018 Auto Expo. Apart from these, the German manufacturer will also showcase the G 310 R and the G 310 GS at the biennial event.
The BMW F 750 GS and the F 850 GS are adventure touring motorcycles, which made their debut at the 2017 EICMA Show. The cosmetic updates include a sharper fairing and new decals. They also feature LED headlamps and a new 6.5-inch TFT instrument console. Both the bikes are powered by similar 853cc parallel twin engines, although the state of tune is different. The F750GS churns out 75bhp while the F850GS is good for 93bhp. The F750GS is meant for the road, thanks to the alloy wheels and road-biased tyres. The F850GS on the other hand, gets longer suspension travel and 21-inch front wheel to make it better at off-roading. The rider aids include ABS, three riding modes and traction control.
With the increase in demand for adventure touring motorcycles, we expect the F 750 GS and F 850 GS to strike a chord with the Indian audience. We expect them to be priced around Rs 10 lakhs.
