BMW Motorrad has sold 150 motorcycles since their official entry in India in April 2017. The manufacturer's sales numbers are mostly led by adventure motorcycles.
Ever since BMW began their operations in India two and a half months ago, the demand for their adventure motorcycles has been more than the other bikes in their portfolio. More than 60 per cent of BMW Motorrad sales are from adventure motorcycles led by the top-spec R 1200 GS Adventure. Both the R 1200 GS and the top-spec GS Adventure are offered in three variants each, starting at Rs 15.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the standard R 1200 GS. The prices for the R 1200 GSA start at Rs 17.50 lakh, retailing up to Rs 21.40 lakh for the GSA Pro trim.
Untill last year, BMW used to sell their motorcycles through importers with retailers in Mumbai and Delhi. Now with their official entry, the manufacturer is planning to increase its presence in the country. They will open new dealerships in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Ahmedabad in the next 10-12 months. The brand offers various motorcycles from different segments including sports, roadster, touring, heritage and adventure. All of these bikes are on sale in our country as completely built units (CBUs) from Berlin, Germany.
