BMW Motorrad India sells around 1640 G310R, G310GS since launch

BMW Motorrad India had a good 2018. The company managed to sell a total of 2187 units last year and that’s quite an achievement. 

As per the company, over 75 per cent of the sales came from the G310R and the G310GS. So that’s around 1640 units of these bikes were sold in the last year. While the company didn’t give the model-wise breakdown, we believe majority the G310R contributed the most as it is the most affordable BMW one can buy in India. These single-cylinder BMWs are manufactured by TVS at their Hosur plant and exported rest of the world. 

In the big bikes segment, the S1000RR, the R1200GS and the R1200 GSA were the highest selling models. In this case too, the German maker didn’t give a model-wise breakdown. With just 11 operational showrooms, the company had a good year. There’s no news on the expansion plans yet, but BMW would want to enter more cities given the good demand for its bikes.
