Emergency braking or panic braking is a risky affair. If the fellow motorists are not very attentive, they might rear end you. BMW has tried to solve this problem with the launch of the dynamic brake lights.
BMW wanted its motorcycles to be seen better on the road when the riders are slowing down or during emergency braking. The new dynamic brake lights do the exact same job. The brake lights work in two stages. The first stage involves blinking at five Herz rate and that is five times per second, as studies revealed. This occurrence is the one that attracts the most attention. Blinking alone occurs when the motorcycle decelerates from a speed over 50kmph. As the braking continues, and the speed drops under 14kmph, the hazard lights start flashing, too. This second stage remains turned on until the motorcycle picks up speed once more and goes over 20kmph.
The German motorcycle manufacturer is offering this technology on motorcycles that features ABS Pro option. While the dynamic brake lights will be offered as standard on the 2016 K1600GT, GTL and the Exclusive, the Adventure and the tourer versions will get it as an optional.
