BMW Motorrad has issued yet another recall in the USA, this time for visibility issues with the accessory turn signals fitted on ten models in their line-up. The recall has affected 9,000 units.
According to US vehicle safety standards, the accessory turn signals may not be sufficiently visible to other drivers, posing a safety threat. The recall has affected the BMW R1200 GS, R1200 GS Adventure, F700 GS, F800 GS, F800 GS Adventure, F800 GT, F800 R, S1000 R, S1000 RR, R1200 R, and R1200 RS. The recall will begin from 9 October 2017. All the affected bikes will have their turn signals replaced free of charge from the manufacturer.
Although the issue might seem minor in countries like ours, US safety laws are rather strict and have landed BMW in trouble for the sixth time in a short period. BMW Motorrad India has not announced a recall for the issue here.
