- India launch details of new model unavailable yet
BMW Motorrad, the two-wheeler arm of the Bavarian manufacturer, has announced that it has rolled out the 1,000,000th GS, equipped with a boxer engine from the production line at its plant in Berlin-Spandau. The 1,000,000th unit was a BMW R 1250 GS in Triple Black Style. However, this motorcycle model will be soon replaced by the R 1300 GS. The company said in the same statement that the R 1300 GS will be unveiled to the world on 28 September, 2023.
Notably, the company remained tight-lipped about the details of the upcoming R 1300 GS. However, this model has been spotted on several occasions in the past, and the spy images have revealed the radar tech on the motorcycle. This feature is already available on its rivals such as the Ducati Multistrada V4 S, KTM 1290 Super Adventure R, and the Triumph Tiger 1200 Explorer range.
The radar tech brings features such as an adaptive cruise control system and a blind-spot detection function. Other features on the updated model will comprise full-LED lighting, a colour-TFT display with smartphone connectivity, and tubeless-tyre-compatible wire-spoke wheels in 19-inch front and 17-inch rear sizes. It will also pack a comprehensive electronics package that will comprise cornering ABS, lean-sensitive traction control, hill hold assist, and more.
The India launch details of the 2023 BMW R 1300 GS are not available yet. However, we expect to see this model in our market in the first half of 2024.
