BMW Motorrad will mark its re-entry in the Indian market with the launch of its first showroom in Pune on April 14. Located at Naylor Road, Pune, this showroom is being set up in association with Bavaria Motors.
BMW Motorrad showcased a host of motorcycles, including the G310 R at the Auto Expo last year. However, the company stopped short of launching these motorcycles in India due to lack of a dealership network. Now with the launch of the new dealership, we can expect the company to launch its wide range of motorcycles, including the S1000, R1200, R nineT and the G310 R.
BMW Motorrad has ambitious plans of selling two lakh two-wheelers worldwide by 2020. While BMW’s premium motorcycles are out of reach for a major chunk of the buyers in developing markets, the new G310 platform will play a major role in helping the brand meet this target. Manufactured at TVS’ plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, the G310 models have been developed from the ground-up to be competitively priced.
